The Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1 x Up There Natsukashii Glacier Grey brings nostalgic running design into a clean, modern setting. Created with Melbourne retailer Up There, this special edition takes inspiration from “Natsukashii,” a Japanese expression linked to the warm feeling of remembering the past. Its Glacier Grey and Pure Silver palette gives the shoe a fresh, versatile appearance, while crisp white sections keep the overall look bright. Breathable mesh forms the foundation of the upper, helping air circulate during everyday wear. Glossy synthetic overlays add structure, depth, and a polished finish. Meanwhile, carefully placed red accents create sharp contrast without overwhelming the understated colour scheme. Up There’s signature green detailing adds another distinctive touch and connects the design to the boutique’s identity. The layered forefoot also updates the original GEL-KAYANO 12 aesthetic with mesh and fused elements inspired by archival ASICS running footwear.

Comfort remains central to the Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1 x Up There Natsukashii Glacier Grey, making its technical heritage useful beyond appearance alone. Underfoot, the shoe uses tooling derived from the GEL-NIMBUS 17, combining dual GEL technology with FLUIDRIDE cushioning for support and lasting comfort. This supportive platform works well for long days, casual outings, travel, and city wear. In addition, the sculpted sole gives the retro upper a balanced shape that feels current rather than dated. The neutral grey, silver, and white tones also make styling simple. Pair it with relaxed denim, cargo trousers, shorts, or technical pieces for an effortless everyday outfit. Small flashes of red and green provide personality while preserving the clean finish. For sneaker collectors, ASICS enthusiasts, and anyone drawn to refined retro runners, this collaboration delivers a thoughtful mix of history, comfort, and contemporary street style. It is an easy statement pair that feels distinctive without becoming difficult to wear.
